15 year obit from genocide in Khodjali
At night from February 25 to February 26, 1992 Armenian invaders with support of ex-Soviet military troops – 366th regiment of 23rd Division of Soviet 4th Army - surrounded town of Khodjali and start firing upon the town from various gun types. As soon as the attack started Khodjali flashed with flame in minutes. Settlements were destroyed under caterpillar tracks of armored warfare, blood of the peaceful population flew like rivers. Nobody received mercy -neither infants nor the old nor women nor the wounded. The citizens who tried to run away to forests or mountains were killed with machine-guns and cannons. From 613 martyrs killed in Khodjali 106 were women, 63 - children, 70 - the old. 8 families were totally terminated, 25 children lost both parents, 130 children lost one of the parents. 487 men were wounded, 150 men are considered missing. The State and citizens suffered damage (calculated for 01.04.1992) of 5 billion Rubles.
In different countries of the world many people went out for indignation and protest meetings blaming actions of Armenian occupants.According to the Decree signed on February 25, 1997 by the National Leader, Mr. Heydar Aliyev, every year on February 26 on the territory of the Republic at 17:00 the Martyr's are remembered by one minute silence.
This year, like every year, in the Police Academy arrangements related to genocide in Khodjali took place. Hundreds of the refugees, martyr families of the tragedy in Khodjali were remembered and the personnel of the Police Academy granted them financial assistance. The complement of the Police Academy visited the Memorial "The Scream of Khodjali'', put flowers to the Memorial of Khodjali Martyrs and blamed the guilty. During the lessons the cadets were informed about genocide in Khodjali, activities of the Armenians along centuries directed against the Azeris and shown photo session and movie about the tragical moments that happened during bloody events on February 26, 1992.
The demand and intend of each representative of the Police Academy personnel and cadets is that the Armenian criminals and their accomplices perpetrated the genocide in Khodjali must be judged and the territories invaded must be released and returned.
